If you remember the monolith in 2001: A Space Odyssey, it looks like a giant smartphone. We tend to behave in a similar manner as the apes in that film if there are countless opportunities to use our opposable body part.

This render is the opening image of my "Use MOPs nodes for quick visualisations" titled Houdini tutorial in the actual 3D Artist magazine. I recommend to read the "VFX for Good" article (p.94-95) in this issue, quite relevant. It's very inspiring to know that Norwich University of the Arts offers a classroom experiment for their VFX students that is "using VFX to change our world for the better".
